California 6 Month First Offender DUI Program

Program Information

This 6 month first offender DUI class meets the requirements for the conviction of a first offense Driving Under the Influence. The program is a total of 45 hours combining alcohol and drug assessment, alcohol and drug education, process groups and individual interviews. Originally created for the high alcohol .20 arrests several years ago, the 6 month DUI program has been replaced by the 9 month first offender program in California.

It is designed to not only raise the participants awareness of the dangers of drinking and driving and prevent a future occurrence, but also allow the participant to learn and discover what behaviors and influences are in their life causing them to drink to excessive levels. Through the guidance of our licensed instructors the participant will leave empowered with new knowledge that can prevent a repeat incident and improve overall attitude and behavior.

The following situations may be on record with the DMV which may conflict with the court order;

  • Out of State DUI’s.
  • DUI programs not completed for arrests more than ten years ago.
  • DUI’s not yet sentenced.
  • Out of County DUI’s.

Please verify with the California DMV the exact program completion required for reinstatement of your driving privilege.

Orientation Appointment

Before receiving services, a mandatory orientation is required to explain the rules and requirements, assess program fees and determine method of payment.

Written notice of all activities, schedules, times and classroom assignments  are given to each participant at this time.

  • Group Session: meet once a week (16 sessions, two hours each)
  • Individual Interviews: held at beginning, midpoints, and end of program (four meetings, 15 minutes each)
